New technical hub launches at Long Thanh International Airport

On May 25th, a major commercial technical infrastructure project officially broke ground at Long Thanh International Airport — a development poised to become Vietnam’s next major air transit hub in Asia.

The project is led by Saigon – Long Thanh Ground Services Co., Ltd., a joint venture between two seasoned aviation service providers with over 20 years of experience: SAGS and HGS. The facility will offer repair and maintenance services for aviation vehicles and equipment, designed with modern infrastructure and operated according to international standards. Covering more than 7,000 square meters, the project is expected to be completed by the end of this year, providing comprehensive support for ground operations at Long Thanh — from aircraft cleaning and vehicle maintenance to technical auxiliary services.

What does this mean for you?

If you’re a foreign professional or investor living in Vietnam, here’s why this matters:

  1. Improved Connectivity – Long Thanh is just outside Ho Chi Minh City and will become one of the busiest airports in the region. Whether you’re flying for business, investing in logistics, or planning international expansion, this means faster, smoother travel.
  2. More Investment Opportunities – The airport is at the center of a broader aerotropolis model—an entire economic ecosystem built around air travel. Expect growth in logistics, e-commerce, hospitality, and real estate.
  3. Job Market Evolution – As infrastructure upgrades, so does the need for international expertise, particularly in aviation tech, green energy, and digital systems.
  4. Living in a Global Gateway – For expats living in southern Vietnam, Long Thanh’s rise signals a shift in lifestyle: less travel time, better facilities, and a more connected, modern urban future.
