Vietnam is raising the bar — literally. Three Vietnamese cocktail bars have just earned spots on the Asia’s 50 Best Bars 51–100 list, curated by the prestigious William Reed Business Media in the U.K.
Stir – Ho Chi Minh City (#58)
Tucked away on the first floor of an old apartment building on Lê Thánh Tôn Street, right across from Bến Thành Market, Stir is a cozy, stylish gem with room for 40 guests and a terrace that looks out onto one of Saigon’s busiest tourist spots. The bar serves creative cocktails like Jackfruit Sticky Rice, Jasmine Negroni, and Truffle Martini, along with modern Vietnamese bites like bánh mì, phở, and mangosteen chicken salad. Open daily from 5:30 p.m. to 2 a.m., it’s perfect for both pre-dinner drinks or a full-on late-night chill session.
The Hudson Room – Hanoi (#81)
On the rooftop of the Capella Hanoi Hotel, this bar oozes 1920s New York glamour. The Hudson Room is classy, expansive (seating 80), and serves luxurious fare like caviar and premium steak alongside expertly crafted cocktails. It’s where Gatsby would drink — if he happened to visit Vietnam
Drinking & Healing – Ho Chi Minh City (#99)
Hidden on the second floor of an old apartment building at 25 Hồ Tùng Mậu Street (District 1), Drinking & Healing is a favorite among locals and expats alike. With a capacity of 100 and cocktails starting at VND 228,000 (~$9), it blends moody interiors, creative mixology, and laid-back vibes. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the bar keeps pouring until 2 a.m.
These rankings were decided by the Asia’s 50 Best Bars Academy, which includes 265 bartenders, bar owners, writers, and cocktail pros across the region. While Singapore led the extended list with eight bars, followed by Bangkok (six) and Tokyo (five), Vietnam’s rising stars made a strong impression.
